The Key Stage 3 National Strategy was introduced to raise standards across years 11 to 14. In September 2003 the ICT strategy came into affect, and over the course of the year materials have begun to emerge on the Standards website.

What has been noted by their absence from the materials produced and distributed through the implementation of the strategy, has been assessment activities designed to complement the teaching units.

Launched late in 2003, the MAPS Key Stage 3 strategy tasks are free for all MAPS Key Stage 3 users and are designed specifically to complement the Strategy teaching units.
